I am a teaching artist, as we are called now, at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, as well as an Advisor in Creative Nonfiction for Foreword: A Writing Apprenticeship.
I am not teaching at the Loft this summer, but I will be conducting a week-long residential retreat on memoir writing at Madeline Island School of the Arts in the beautiful Apostle Islands National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. I am available to teach workshops or short courses in memoir and essay writing or on using historical sources to write creative non-fiction. I do not care to do adjunct teaching at institutions of higher education, however.
